Birth Doula Services for Expecting Mothers
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
Psalm 139:14

WHAT IS A BIRTH DOULA AND WHY SHOULD I HAVE ONE?
A birth doula is a person who attends labor and birth with a laboring mother and advocates for the birth space creating an environment for her to labor and birth the way she wants to. Birth doulas know positions, techniques, terms and procedures the birthing mother might not know or be familiar with which can benefit them while they are in labor. Birth doulas also assist the partner ( if present ) to allow them best help their partner and let the flow of oxytocin continue. Birth doulas operate with a clear head enabling them to remember the positions practiced that the birthing mother may have forgotten while in the stress of labor.
A doula can also advocate during birth against procedures the mothers did not want and are unable to communicate, protecting your labor plan and birthing space. A doula can also give the partner a sometimes necessary break from the process to sleep and refuel themselves to be able to be there for their loved one. A birth doula will not take over the birth partner’s role. They are there to guide and assist the mother when needed.

MEET MARY
I started my journey in Birth Doula work after I delivered my first baby at home with a midwife. I felt so empowered with how my midwife worked that I wanted to be active in the birthing field starting with being a Birth Doula.
I have a passion for labor and birth, and helping women begin this amazing new journey of motherhood in any way I can.
“My partner Marc and I connected with Mary the instant we met her. She was very supportive throughout my pregnancy and during labor. She had a plethora of information. This was so nice because it was our first child. We highly recommend Mary she had a great bed-side manner and made us feel comfortable.”
